BOYE, LULLABY BABY BLANKET PATTERN

by JUDY KURBAN
(DALLAS, TX.)

THIS IS MY FIRST ATTEMPT AT SOMETHING SO AMBITIOUS, I AM CONFUSED ABOUT THE DIRECTIONS, IT SAYS USE TO STRANDS, ALL PICTURES IN BOOK AND OF STICTCHES ARE ONLY SHOWING ONE STRAND, TO WRAP ON THE LOOM AND WORK. IS THERE A TUTORIAL SOMEWHERE?

by: Jen Tavernier

Hey, I didn't find the Lullabye one, (go to Ravelry, Brenda Myers), But there are several baby balnket how to loom. This is Virginia's Simply intertwined, (She has a whole channel many vids, as does Goodknit kisses (Kristen Mangus.) Covers everything practically! These were great entry teachers into the looming world and helping, and check out their vids and blogs!

WHY with large gauge looms 2 strands #4 yarn NEW
by: Jen Tavernier

This will help some!

http://www.loomahat.com/knit-with-two-strands/

Now, If you are on Facebook, use the search box and search out "loom Groups". There are several, and you will be part of interactive forums with crazy mad loomers at all skill levels, that are willing to help, answer questions, pattern help, tips, links, and loads of good stuff! You will NOT regret it! Best resource around!

There are several I know of, off the top of my head, Goodknit Kisses, Knifty Knitter loom group, (Many of us belong to them all...lol!

The above link at loomahat, (Great resource to schmooze around on, tons of stuff, all looming related with valuable data! and will answer many questions, stitches, patterns, etc) will help! If you want to see what is on youtube as far as tutorials, (always watchable!) preface any question/item with loom knitting+whatever specific - maybe in your case, name of project, or generic baby blanket tutorials. There is a massive amount of tutes and things there. Often, another pattern or tute will answer questions similar to an area you have a question about. Also, you can also search out loom knitting blogs+question. Back when I started, there was very little of anything on looming! It was trial and error and frustration. lol Now, there is whatever at your fingertips online, as this community exploded!

Off hand also, check out Tuteate, (on youtube, tons of realtime tutorials on all kinds of things, and very clear,) and Simply Intertwined, another youtube channel. Also, look around your area and craft stores, and ask if there is a looming group, or instructor, if you are learning new chops/stitches, etc. Hope this helps! Jen

Boye Lullaby BabY Blanket Pattern NEW
by: Marilyn G.

Many times the reason for this is it is easier to see the fine details in the photos (how the pegs are wrapped, how the stitches are formed and so on). But, if the pattern calls for using two strands of yarn used together and you wish to receive the same results with the finished blanket, use the two strands together. Patterns call for this because using one strand would create a blanket that is very open and thin, not maybe the best choice for a baby blanket. Also, be aware of the type of yarn called for, #3 sport weight, #4 worsted weight, #5 or 6 bulky weight. That too will change the look of the finished blanket so it is best to use the same yarn type.
