Elme McGee

Retired started loom knitting just to stay busy, recently while awaiting the birth of my granddaughter I started knitting on a 42 peg circle loom, not really having anything in mind just staying busy. I now have about a 3 foot section and gaining of knitted yarn. Want to ask someone for some direction.

Elme -Where to go! NEW
by: jenny tavernier

Hi Elme!

1st - Go to facebook, and search box: "loom Groups". There are several, tons of interactive forums, ideas, tips, questions, links. Many of us mad loomers have been joined to all of them for years. checl out the "documents and the galleries (photos)

Off the top of my head, Goodknit Kisses, and knifty Knitter loom groups. They are all great! Tons of ideas -pics, projects...

Also, go to Youtube, and look for any vid/question: Start the search with loom knitting+baby caccoon, etc. (pillow cover skirt, sweaters, etc. giant cowl, etc.)

Youtube has some great tutorials, try tuteate, think slippers, fingerless mitts, hats, fairy costumes (loomed with tulle skirts for kids,) sox, slipper socks, mittens, etc. Look for newborn and baby stuff - blankets, sweaters, bonnets, mitts, booties, etc. I mention baby cacoon, as there is a newborn sac/swaddling tube that may be useful...
check out Tuteate, (real time great vids), or loom knitting+loom knitting tutorials - how tos, what oter loom sizes are available, etc. Have fn and good luck, and FB really is the greatest place to connect up for ideas, tips, all skill levels, stitches, projects, questions, etc. Really worth it. When I first started looming years ago, there were not a lot of resouces that Icould find or knew even where or what to look for. Be sure to check out the stitches available, flat panels versus just connected, and learn the Super Stretchy (or extra stretchy) bind off.stitch! (for stretch ease - think sewing zigzag stitch. )
