Extending a Long Loom

Just a question...I am new to using a long loom
(22inches) and I want to be able to make an afghan. Problem is I don't know how to connect them. I wanted to know if there is a longer loom so the finished product is wider? Also, I saw something called a loom clip which is supposed to give you the option to change sizes on a long loom..does it also allow it to become longer? I just want to be able to knit an afghan without having to make two patterns and then connect them.
