Extra Long Loom

by pcasey

I'm using the Boye Extra Long Loom to make a baby blanket and the middle of the loom gets narrow. I thought maybe, I had a defective loom, so I exchanged it and the new one is doing the same thing. Is there anything I can do to keep this from happening?

Work from the ends NEW
by: Shannon

I found the same issue even on the Knitting Board looms, but not quite as severe. The best technique I found to combat this is go from the left to the center then from the right to the center (or vice versa - whichever end your working yarn end is) it keeps the tension much more even and works on a variety of stitches. Good luck!!!

Tension NEW
by: ChristinaRae

This tends to happen on the plastic long looms if your tension is too tight. Practice keeping your tension looser and see if this helps.

Alternatively, take a look at the Knitting Board 18-inch All-in-One loom, or 28-inch loom with peg extenders. They're made of wood, and won't bow like that.

Cindwood looms are also good, as well as KISS looms.

Good luck, and happy looming :)
