Help reading a pattern

I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis in 2005. I was at a point where I could not use my hands for anything. Not even pick up a pen and write my name because the pain was so bad. Now nearly five years later, I'm able to use my hands, but unable to stand or walk very long. So...

I picked up a set of knitting looms and a couple of books. I've learned the basics, but want to do so much more. I'm stuck on reading a pattern. If anyone can help me out, I'd be forever grateful.

The book is from Leisure Arts "More Knitting Wheels Fashions". The pattern is on page 3 called "Basket Hat". I'm fine until I get to Rounds 7-10: Purl 3, knit 2, (purl 4, knit 2) around to last peg, purl 1. I don't understand what the parenthesis are for. I know if there is an asterisk that you repeat from the asterisk. But do I purl 3, knit 2 and then the is the rest purl 4, knit 2 to last peg?

I will try to post a picture of what I have done so far. Thank you for letting me post a question. I hope to hear from anyone soon. Happy Knitting!
