Help!! with round loom

My daughter wanted a loom for christmas and is making a scarf, she finished with the end color and was switching to the main scarf color when one of the threads of the first color broke! She is heartbroken!! Is there any way to fix this??

Ouch!! is there any way she can tie/splice it back together??? I hope she can find a way to fix it. Tell her "good luck" and to keep on knitting! :o)
