How to Knit and Purl on loom NEW
by: Anonymous

A garter stitch is what you call it when you alternate every other row from knit to purl. On the loom (assuming you have already cast on to number of desired pegs):
1) Knit is when you lay the yarn "above" the yarn already on the peg, use your knit hook and "come up" from below the existing yarn, over top of the new yarn, pulling it down and pulling out enough to make a loop. Hold onto this loop and remove both stitches from the peg and replace the "new" loop back onto the peg.
2) Purl is when you basically do the opposite of knit. You lay the yarn "below" the yarn already on the peg, use your knit hook and "come down" from above the existing yarn, over top of the new yar,, pulling it up and pulling out enought to make a loop. Hold onto this loop and remove both stitches from the peg and replace the "new" loop back onto the peg.
To get a good visual of this process, go to the YouTube website and search for loom knit; loom knit stitches; etc...
Good luck...
