How To Count Pegs

by Jackie
(Toronto, Canada)

I'm sorry to repeat, but I saw the question below and clicked on all the links provided, and I dunno if I'm just especially bad at this, but I have yet to understand how I'm to figure out how to count how many pegs I use.

For a large sock, I'm to cast onto 54 pegs. The loom goes up to 25 pegs length wise/50 pegs in total. On each side of the loom/for the width, there are 5 pegs/10 pegs in total. Am I therefore supposed to adjust the loom to reach as far as peg 22?

I can't explain how much I would appreciate any help.
