I am trying to make a scarf and it needs to be 6"inches. How to i know how make pegs to use?

my gosh! I have never measured! But depending on the stitch you use, say ewrap on the circular knifty knitter looms (flat panel) I would say at LEAST 12 pegs - (maybe a couple more) since the knit item tail will shrink down to size as it comes off the loom -
