What are Knitting Looms?

Knitting looms are simple weaving tools made of wood or plastic. Using a wrapping process, yarn is wound around the pegs of a loom to create rows of knitting. The process is simple, but the variety, shapes and sizes of knitting looms are growing constantly as loom knitters experiment with their craft.

If you are new to the world of knitting looms, you are in the right place. The Loom Room is a website all about knitting looms: how to loom knit, where to get quality looms, and where to find others who love loom knitting, too.

Please enjoy our free loom knitting patterns and instructional photos.

Wooden Knitting Looms

Below is a list of wood knitting loom manufacturers. They are all small, home-based builders of quality wooden looms. Wood looms are, by nature of the materials and labor required in constructing them, more expensive than plastic looms. Because of this they are considered more of an heirloom type loom--meant to last and sometimes decoratively displayed.

Although if you are looking for unique knitting looms, these loom builders have come up with some very creative knitting looms that serve a variety of purposes. Some are designed to knit large afghans, socks, scarves, and more.
