loom knitting curving in.




I'm new to the whole loom knitting thing... well knitting all together. I'm trying to knit on an oval loom and it is bowing/curving in on the both sides. Not really sure what I'm doing wrong.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Ok - still not clear - is the loom bending or is the knitted yarn curving, getting smaller (returning to size as the loom guage will stretch it a bit on the pegs) - or are the edges curling?

There is something called the "rib stitch". This is
basically 2 knits, 2 purls, (there are variations) and will keep it from surling - -

I'm also having the same problem with scarves I have knitted--one using some pegs on a round loom, one using only one side of a long loom.

I thought I saw something about crocheting the long sides of a scard after you bind off the completed project to prevent the edges rolling in, but now I can't find where I saw that, so plan to try experimenting.

WOW! I searched for oval looms and who makes them, didn't come up with much - except that sock knitters sometimes use oval looms -

So I am a bit mystified - what's it made of?
I have heard of soft looms - (circles) that are made to be easier on the hands, more flexible - and depending on what is it made of, there are both pros and cons to these - some love them, some say they don't hold their shape -
Any more info? and what stitches are you using - or maybe tension is too tight?? Hope you add more to this!
