Arghhh! Hate it when that happens!
I actually have the knifty knitters - but dropped stitches are dropped stitchs. When I have a hole, but it is NOT unraveling anymore, I finish whatever, and then go back, thread a needle, and tediously sew/weave it shut.
At least on thicker yarns, you can get away with it - on sock weight - yikes! it might call for judicios darning or the above. Or you can tell people - oh - that's my trademark!
