New to loom knitting

I making the knifty knitter poncho with roller collar designed by Cella Gustin (Provocraft Projects). I have made the two panels and they are the correct size. But, I can not assemble the panels correctly to make the poncho. PLEASE HELP!!

look at this chart:

use the blanket/ladder stitch :
you will get the left loop at the bottom(closet to you) then get loop on the right , continue then pull to tighen.
