Newbie help!

by Jenn
(Winnipeg, MB)

I just bought myself a long loom and am having some trouble. After following some youtube tutorials, I thought I had finally figured it out, but my stitches are incredibly loose. Everyone I have seen is coming out with tight, non-see-through patterns.. My pattern though is very loose and although it looks like a nice pattern, I don't want 5mm gaping holes all throughout my design.

Help? What am I doing wrong?
