Sock Loom

I got a Loops and Thread adjustable sock loom (board) and it says 54 pegs for a large sock. So how do I figure that out does it mean 27 on each side? Do I not include the part that is adjustable and the other small side. I am new to knitting and it is really confusing to me.

Thank You

Sock Loom Help NEW
by: Marilyn G.

Hi,
I use the same sock loom all the time and love it! Yes, you count all of the sides (I use 56 pegs to make a sock to fit me and I have a wide, 8 1/2 size foot). You slide the short adjustable end into place, counting all pegs on all sides to equal the number of pegs you wish to use for your size. Tighten the adjustable side and do not worry about the pegs left un-used. I have made many socks on my Loops & Threads loom and really enjoy using it!!
