weight of yarn

I have the round set of looms have not tried them yet. Do you use chunky yarn for all the projects or can you use worsted weight? Does the looms leave big holes? I do have a sock loom and want to start that also.

Sorry if question is dumb.
Thank you,

Hi There!

No question is dumb!

If using worsted weight, Double strand it! Otherwise it will be lacy-ish, (works for summer,)
but yes, one strand of #4/worsted will leave it a bit holy looking. So, 2 strands.

I double up my #5 also, (but generally, #5 and 6 are fine as a single strand, except for Homespun, which doesn't have much spring back stretch, and needs to be thicker, I think. (I use 2 strands of it, eventhough it says it is a 5).

Also, check out facebook, search ~loom groups~ - there are several, join them all! Very cool and wonderful resource, any help needed, questions, all skill levels are there, great groups, tips, photos, projects, patterns, links, reviews of looms - tons of vids on youtube also -very very cool!

Deals with all loom brands, and round through rectangular, etc.

A couple off my head is Knifty knitter loom group, Goodknit Kisses, etc. (there are a couple others - )

Please avail yourself!

When accessing youtube, any question with looms, start with loom knitting+whatever question, project, stitch, etc. Helps it narrow it down. There are tons of vids now.

Have fun! Jen
